Founded in 2015, Ray of Hope Botswana is a registered youth-led NGO that addresses the educational needs of children in a rural village of Botswana. Through grassroots intervention, weekly tutoring, and sustained mentorship, we continually work towards uplifting the lives of underprivileged and orphaned children in real and fundamental ways.

We believe that education is the one of the most profound tools to address some of the most severe causes and symptoms of child poverty and socio-economic inequality. Our goal is to support children at Gamodubu to rise above the poverty line, become self-sufficient, and pursue their dreams.

About Us

Our Target Community

Situated in outskirts of Gaborone, Botswana, Gamodubu is an economically backward village with limited access to schools and vocation training centers.

Our key partner, Gamodubu Childcare Trust, fosters vulnerable children of the village, including orphans, rape survivors and HIV/AIDs patients.

Our Team

Our team consists of dedicated and socially-active high school and university students, predominantly from Maru-a-Pula School and University of Botswana, who volunteer as tutors and mentors to children at Gamodubu Childcare Trust.

Our Model

Ray of Hope's model is simple: empowering the educated youth of Botswana with the skills and knowledge needed to identify the root causes of educational inequality and effectively address those barriers in disadvantaged communities.
